[Saba Sports News] In the midweek Champions League
match, Manchester United clinched a narrow 1-0 win against Copenhagen. Towards
the end of the game, Copenhagen were awarded a penalty kick, which was saved by
Andre Onana. After the match, Alejandro Garnacho posted a photo of his teammate
Onana on social media to show his appreciation for Onana’s performance.
Unfortunately, Garnacho included two chimpanzee emoji in the post, which was
considered by some as racist. To avoid any suspicion, Garnacho promptly deleted
the post. However, the incident has gained significant attention and sparked
controversy. Some fans argue that it should be up to the individual involved to
determine whether discrimination is intended or not. Onana himself does not see
any issue, claiming there is no discrimination. They question the right of
others to make irresponsible remarks in such cases.
