[Saba Sports News] Selectors have named a 14-player Emerging Ireland men’s squad for a West Indies tour in November 2023. The tour will feature three 50-over white ball matches and two four-day red ball matches, taking place at two venues in Antigua: the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (SVRS) and the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG).
Stephen Doheny, who represents Merrion Cricket Club and the North West Warriors domestically, will lead the squad. Doheny, with 12 international appearances since his debut in January, will also serve as the primary wicketkeeper.
Andrew White, Ireland Men’s national selector, explained, ‘This Emerging Ireland Men’s squad features a mix of youth and fringe contracted players who need more cricket exposure. The tour will provide valuable experience, allowing them to challenge themselves against strong opposition in foreign conditions, enhancing their development.'”
