[Saba Sports News] Leading up to the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), the Mumbai Indians’ camp appears to be brimming with excitement. With all eyes on newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya, the team’s spirits seem high ahead of the tournament.
The upbeat atmosphere was complemented by star Indian batsman Ishan Kishan joining in on the fun. During a training session, the 25-year-old attempted to mimic the side’s bowling coach, Lasith Malinga, donning a colored wig resembling Malinga’s distinctive hairstyle. Mumbai Indians shared a clip of Ishan’s antics on their social media platforms, where he even tried to imitate Malinga’s bowling action.
“Malinga banne ka tareeka bohot 𝒌𝒆𝒛𝒖𝒂𝒍 hai Ishan Bhai,” Mumbai Indians captioned their post on their ‘X’ handle.
Mumbai Indians boast a remarkable track record in the IPL, having won the tournament five times under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Despite their loss to the Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians reached the knockout stages of the competition.
As they gear up for IPL 2024, Mumbai Indians will strive to deliver their best performance and aim for another title. Their first match against the Gujarat Titans is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 24.
