[Saba Sports News] According to recent reports from foreign media, senior officials from Honda’s racing department have discussed the future of drivers with Honda backgrounds, including Yuki Tsunoda, with Red Bull executives. They have requested that the Red Bull team allow Tsunoda to test their F1 car. Tsunoda has never tested a Red Bull F1 car, and Honda hopes to provide him with this opportunity to further assess his potential. Honda may believe that Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is underperforming, leading to uncertainty about his seat for 2025. Red Bull needs to find suitable drivers to replace or supplement their lineup, and Tsunoda is one of the potential candidates. Honda hopes that by allowing Tsunoda to test the Red Bull car, it will increase his chances of joining the team. However, it seems that with Honda’s partnership with Red Bull set to end next year, Tsunoda’s future at Red Bull is uncertain, and the team may not grant him a testing opportunity. The technical support agreement between Honda and Red Bull was originally extended until the end of 2025. However, with Ford announcing its long-term strategic technical partnership with Red Bull for the 2026 season and beyond, Honda’s collaboration with Red Bull will conclude after the 2025 season.
