[Saba Sports News] The news of
Lewis Hamilton’s transfer from Mercedes to Ferrari created a major stir in the
sports community. Recently, Matt Bishop, the former media content and
communications director for the McLaren team, divulged details of a private conversation
he had with Hamilton in a Tokyo bar back in 2015. After a few drinks, Matt
posed a question to Hamilton, asking if he intended to remain with the Mercedes
team until the end of his career or potentially become a brand ambassador for
the team. Hamilton responded by saying, “What I really want to do is join
Ferrari one day. If I can win the world championship with McLaren, Mercedes,
and Ferrari, it would be a fantastic way to conclude my career.” Matt
noted that joining Ferrari had always been part of Hamilton’s career plan. Some
fans jokingly remarked that Hamilton might not have left Mercedes if their car
hadn’t become competitive.
