Sports News] Retired Malaysian mixed doubles female star Goh Liu Ying recently
shared an update on her social media platforms to celebrate the New Year. She
posted a photo of herself holding a baby, conveying her New Year greetings to
fans and netizens. In the photo, Goh Liu Ying can be seen at home, dressed in a
red cheongsam (traditional Chinese dress), with a joyful smile as she holds her
child. In the caption, she wrote, “In the Year of the Dragon, I wish you
all abundance like the flowing water of the East China Sea and a waist slimmer
than Nanshan Mountain.” Goh Liu Ying is a former Malaysian mixed doubles
badminton star who achieved notable success during her playing career. She
partnered with Chan Peng Soon and together they won the silver medal in mixed
doubles at the 2016 Summer Olympics, the bronze medal in mixed doubles at the
Commonwealth Games, and the mixed doubles championship at the Asian Badminton
Championships. She also secured two mixed doubles titles at the Malaysian
Badminton National Grand Prix Finals. In April of the previous year, Goh Liu
Ying chose to retire from professional badminton. After retiring, she privately
married her long-time partner and focused on her family life. Consequently, she

events. This update from Goh Liu Ying showcases her joyous celebration of the
New Year and provides a glimpse into her current family life.
