[Saba Sports News] Dutch racing driver Tom Coronel recently discussed current Sauber driver Valtteri Bottas during a media interview, suggesting that Bottas should step back from F1 to give younger drivers a chance. Coronel stated, “Bottas hasn’t shown anything outstanding; we can have higher expectations for drivers like him. It’s always tough to go from the best teams to the worst, but he should definitely do better. He should give younger drivers more opportunities. As a former champion, having zero points is a disgrace.” I believe that Bottas, who has stood on the podium multiple times, has indeed had a poor season; he has yet to score any points this season while enjoying a vibrant off-track life, doing advertisements, cycling, and even starting his own wine brand. For a driver who has won ten Grand Prix races, Bottas’s actions are somewhat perplexing.
