Sports News] According to the latest reports from Italian media, Ferrari has
expressed interest in Adrian Newey, the renowned designer and current
aerodynamics guru of the Red Bull Racing Team. This move comes after Ferrari
announced that Lewis Hamilton would be joining their team in the upcoming
season. During Newey’s tenure at Red Bull Racing, the team experienced a period
of dominance in Formula 1, which caught the attention of Ferrari. Ferrari has
long admired Newey’s exceptional talent and has made previous attempts to bring
him on board. Throughout his more than ten years at Red Bull, Newey’s name has
been linked to Ferrari on multiple occasions. Rumors of Ferrari’s interest in
poaching him surfaced even in the previous season. The most notable interaction
between Ferrari and Newey occurred in 2014 when Ferrari made their third
attempt to secure his services. However, the negotiations fell through due to a
failure to reach an agreement on Newey’s multi-billion dollar investment plan.
As a result, Ferrari missed out on the opportunity to bring the aerodynamics
master on board. With Formula 1 set to undergo significant rule changes in
2026, the financially robust Ferrari team is positioned as one of the top teams
with the ability to invest heavily in design and research and development. This
places them in a favorable position for future success. It is expected that
Ferrari will be willing to spend significant sums of money to recruit talented
individuals, including Newey.
