Sports News] Dutch F1 racing driver Giedo van der Garde recently made a
significant announcement in a media interview. He revealed that he is retiring
from racing, marking the end of his 10-year career as a racing driver. Van der
Garde gained recognition when he participated in the F1 World Championship in
2013. In 2016, he transitioned to sports car racing, and in his debut year with
G-Drive Racing, he secured the championship in the LMP2 class, establishing his
reputation in the field. Throughout his career, Van der Garde faced numerous
conflicts with his management company, which contributed to a decline in his
performance. This season, he represented TDS Racing in the full-year
competition of IMSA LMP2 category before ultimately deciding to retire at the
end of the season. Van der Garde expressed his intention to shift his focus to
his family after retirement. Additionally, he plans to work part-time as a TV
news car review anchor, continuing to engage with car enthusiasts.
