[Saba Sports News] A decade after winning a title with the San Antonio Spurs, veteran big man Aron Baynes is hanging up his sneakers. Baynes’ agent, Daniel Moldovan, announced his retirement on X on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old Australian started his pro career in Europe in 2009 before joining the NBA in 2013. He won a championship with the Spurs in 2014 and later played for Detroit, Boston, Phoenix, and Toronto.
Although an injury at the Tokyo Olympics kept him out of the NBA after his 2020-21 season with the Raptors, Baynes resumed his career with Australia’s NBL, playing for the Brisbane Bullets from 2022 to 2024.
Now, with a championship ring and nearly $38 million in career earnings, Baynes is ready to move on.
