[Saba Sports News] The Miami Heat secured their third straight preseason win, defeating the Atlanta Hawks 120-111 in the second game of a back-to-back, with Jimmy Butler leading the way.
Despite ongoing attention to his contract situation, Butler’s focus was clearly on winning, as he scored a game-high 24 points with five rebounds, three assists, and three steals on 8-for-11 shooting.
After the game, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra praised Butler as a “super unique player,” noting his efficiency and impact on both ends of the court. Spoelstra added, “He can do both things at such an elite level, even in limited minutes.”
Butler, who’s working to build chemistry with a starting lineup that includes Terry Rozier, Tyler Herro, Nikola Jovic, and Bam Adebayo, silenced critics of his preseason effort with a strong performance on both offense and defense.
