[Saba Sports News] According to reports from Colombian
media, the Colombian National Liberation Army (ELN), the group responsible for
kidnapping Luis Diaz’s father, has stated that they will release him as soon as
possible. Previously, both of Diaz’s parents were kidnapped, and while his
mother was later rescued, his father remained in the custody of the kidnappers.
The Colombian government confirmed that the ELN was behind the abduction and
initiated negotiations with the organisation. After being contacted by ELN
members, they expressed their unawareness of their organisation’s involvement
in the kidnapping of Diaz’s father. They further stated that they would
immediately demand his release. A member of the ELN named Juan Carlos Cuellar
appeared in a video, assuring that they will release Diaz’s father at the
earliest opportunity.
