Sports News] According to recent reports from British media, the kick-off time
for the EFL Cup final is set to be brought forward due to concerns about
potential conflicts between fans of Chelsea and Liverpool. The organizer of EFL
Cup, initially scheduled the final to kick off at 4:30 pm on February 25
(Sunday). However, the Metropolitan Police, considering the game between
Chelsea and Liverpool as a high-risk event with a potential for clashes between
fans, has requested an earlier start time. The police have classified the match
as high-risk due to concerns about public order and fan safety. During
discussions held earlier today, the Metropolitan Police requested that the
final kick-off no later than 3 pm. However, EFL officials are hesitant to alter
the kick-off time due to their contractual obligations with Sky Sports, who
have broadcasting rights for the event. Nevertheless, sources from both sides
indicate that a compromise is likely to be reached in order to move the game
forward.
