[Saba Sports News] ESPN, not The CW, could be the next home for Dwyane Wade. Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported Tuesday that ESPN is interested in the retired Miami Heat star, primarily for studio roles.
“Dwyane Wade is a possibility [for ESPN], more for studio,” Marchand shared, noting that talks aren’t very advanced yet.
At 42, Wade has experience as a guest analyst on ESPN and did studio work for TNT from 2019-22. Though initially critiqued for his on-screen presence, he impressed viewers as an Olympic basketball commentator for NBC this past summer, working alongside Noah Eagle. Wade reportedly trained with a speech and vocal coach to prepare for his role in Paris.
Now a Basketball Hall of Famer, Wade has attracted interest from several major networks after his Olympic stint. ESPN, which recently hired another former Heat guard, may also be vying for Wade’s talents.
