[Saba Sports News] Drew Eubanks recently brought to light an incident that occurred before a game, involving him and Isaiah Stewart. On Wednesday, it was reported that Stewart had struck Eubanks from behind at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, before their teams were set to compete.
Before the game, Eubanks confirmed to reporters from the Phoenix Suns that the altercation took place. He described how Stewart had hit him unexpectedly as he was entering the arena, referring to Stewart’s punch as “soft.” Eubanks humorously remarked on his intention to play in the game, suggesting the punch lacked force.
The irony of being on the receiving end of a surprise attack only to label the hit as insignificant highlights the situation. Despite Eubanks’ participation in the game, Stewart was sidelined due to an ankle injury.
Stewart, the 22-year-old center for the Detroit Pistons, had previously faced suspension in the 2021-22 season following a heated exchange with Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James. With this recent event, Stewart might find himself under the league’s scrutiny once again for disciplinary action.
