[Saba Sports News] Since assuming the role of head coach for the Milwaukee Bucks, Doc Rivers has faced significant challenges, with the team finding limited success under his leadership. Acknowledging the difficulties, Rivers admitted that stepping into the position mid-season has proven more challenging than anticipated.
“It’s been 3 weeks. It’s been harder than I thought,” Rivers reflected, noting his initial reluctance about the timing of such a transition. This marked his first experience of taking a head coaching role during a season, and he has encountered obstacles in aligning the team with his strategic vision.
The Bucks’ performance has been inconsistent, with an initial 1-5 record under Rivers. Although they managed consecutive victories against the Charlotte Hornets and Denver Nuggets, subsequent losses to a depleted Miami Heat and a Memphis Grizzlies team missing key players highlighted ongoing struggles.
These defeats brought Milwaukee’s record to 35-21, with a 3-7 standing in the “Rivers era,” a downturn from their 30-13 record prior to Adrian Griffin’s dismissal.
