[Saba Sports News] During India’s second ODI against Australia in Indore, veteran Australian batsman David Warner was seen switching to right-hand batting. In a challenging chase of 399 runs, Australia lost two crucial wickets early in the second over. Warner, however, displayed a relaxed approach and batted right-handed, a move he has made in the past as well.
He managed to reach his half-century but was subsequently dismissed by R Ashwin, who trapped him lbw. Interestingly, replays indicated that Warner had edged the ball, but he chose not to review the decision and departed for 53 off 39 balls.
Following Warner’s dismissal, Ashwin also claimed the wicket of Josh Inglis, adding to Australia’s middle-order troubles. Ashwin’s impressive performance aimed to secure his spot for the upcoming ODI World Cup, scheduled to start on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
In the first innings, Indian batsmen dominated the Australian bowlers, with Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer both scoring centuries. Suryakumar Yadav contributed significantly with an unbeaten 72* off 37 deliveries, helping India post a formidable total of 399 runs. The Indore pitch heavily favored the batsmen, leaving the Australian bowlers struggling.
Despite criticism, Suryakumar Yadav proved his worth in the ODI format, with the faith of the team management, particularly captain Rohit Sharma, paying off. As a result, India secured an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series against Australia.
