[Saba Sports News] In a
recent episode of the Inside Line F1 podcast, host Soumil Arora interviewed
Daryl Goodrich, the director of the Disney+ documentary series “Brawn: The
Impossible F1 Story.” The documentary, consisting of four episodes, was
released on November 15 last year. It focuses on the remarkable 2009 Formula 1
season, during which the newly-formed British Brawn GP team clinched both the
team and driver championships in their debut year. Brawn GP was formerly the
Honda Racing team. However, due to the financial crisis of 2008, Honda CEO
Takeo Fukui decided to withdraw financial support, resulting in the team’s exit
from Formula 1. Prior to the 2009 season, team manager Ross Brawn took over the
team with 80 million euros from his own pocket and founded the Brawn GP team.
During the podcast interview, director Daryl Goodrich shared behind-the-scenes
stories about the making of the documentary. He also highlighted some of his
favorite moments from the production and discussed his firsthand experiences
working with Keanu Reeves, as well as the stories he heard from the famous trio
of Ross Brawn, Jenson Button, and Rubens Barrichello, who were integral to the
Brawn GP team’s success.
