Sports News] According to the latest media reports, the Red Bull Racing design
project is facing difficulties due to the implementation of a salary cap in
Formula 1. To comply with the Fairness Act and abide by the budget cap, Red
Bull Racing is required to streamline its staff and reduce high salaries. One
notable figure affected by this situation is the renowned technical genius,
Adrian Newey. Red Bull Racing intends to allocate Newey’s full commitment to
the RB17 supercar project in the medium term, thereby freeing up a high-paying
position for someone else within the F1 team. The budget cap rule does not
include the salaries of the three highest-paid engineers. Currently, Newey
still works part-time with the F1 team, but that arrangement is expected to
change soon. Newey is widely regarded as one of the greatest designers in F1
history, having contributed to 11 driver’s World Championships and 12
constructor’s World Championships throughout his tenure at Williams, McLaren,
and Red Bull Racing.
