Sports News] On February 25th at 23:00 Beijing time, Chelsea will be facing
Liverpool in the League Cup final. According to British media reports,
Chelsea’s championship bonus for the entire team is set at £500,000. Despite
Chelsea’s significant spending in the transfer market, the club has managed to
reduce player wages and closely control bonuses in player contracts. If Chelsea
were to win the League Cup, the £500,000 bonus would be divided equally among
the 25 first-team players. This means that each player would receive £20,000,
which is less than a day’s salary for most of them. However, Chelsea offers a
higher bonus for winning the FA Cup, which amounts to £1 million. At present,
Chelsea has advanced to the top 16 of the FA Cup, with Leeds United as their
opponent in the round of 16. In recent years, the Football Association has
considerably increased the competition bonuses. The FA Cup winner receives a
bonus of £4 million, while the League Cup winner only receives a bonus of
£100,000 from the English Football League (EFL).
