[Saba Sports News] Petr Cech, the former goalkeeper
for Chelsea, has taken up the role of goaltender for the Oxford City Stars in
the NIHL Southern Division ice hockey team since retiring from professional
soccer. Surprisingly, despite being 41 years old, Cech’s save rate remains as
impressive as it was during his time at Chelsea. In a recent match where Oxford
City defeated Streatham 3-2, Cech saved an astonishing 62 out of 64 shots from
the opposing team, resulting in a save rate of 96.875%. Following the game,
Cech was rightfully named the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Throughout his soccer
career, Cech secured the Premier League Golden Glove Award four times and still
holds the record for the most clean sheets in Premier League history, with 202
games. This summer, he was officially inducted into the Premier League Hall of
Fame.
