[Saba Sports News] Netflix’s original documentary series,
“Formula 1: Racing to Win,” has unexpectedly reached its fifth
season. Throughout its run, the series has provided a unique perspective,
catering to fans of classic cars, newcomers to the sport, and even individuals
who aren’t particularly interested in cars. It covers various aspects such as
behind-the-scenes gossip, team leader rivalries, and the emotions of the
drivers. Following the tremendous success of the Netflix documentary, CBS is
considering the development of a sitcom centered around an F1 team boss. Ghent
Steiner, the team principal of the Haas F1 team, is expected to star in the
sitcom. Steiner has a flamboyant personality and makes no effort to hide it,
often delivering outrageous quotes. He is frequently invited to documentaries
and talk shows as a guest. In the editor’s opinion, CBS’s approach is somewhat
unconventional. Based on the currently available information, the project does
not have an attached studio or a main screenwriter. It heavily relies on
Steiner’s own personality to drive the narrative. Securing sponsorship for such
a project may prove challenging.
