[Saba Sports News] apper and host of ‘It Is What It Is,’ Cam’ron has dropped an explosive diss freestyle against Anthony Edwards after Edwards used an old Cam’ron take about him not being a superstar as a ‘receipt’ in his latest Adidas ad.
Cam’ron made his feelings clear in the freestyle:
“Fk wrong with Ant Man? Gave him his props, homie got love for me. New commercial, y’all ain’t got love for me? He shot a jump shot and said fk buddy, the receipt looking like yeah, f**k buddy.”
Cam’ron wore a Luka Doncic jersey, referencing Edwards’ Conference Finals loss to the Mavericks, and included bars about Luka and Kyrie Irving:
“Kyrie Irving with the sh*t don’t get crossed up. Shooters, pardon that’s just my own thoughts. Luka, I send you home on your home court.”
He also criticized Adidas for the ad and their tendency to drop talent they disagree with, mentioning Kanye West as an example:
“Adidas I’m blaming y’all, this is your fault. Campaign about the ghost strange, y’all think you got the ball version of Kanye? Come on stop it dude, you just stopping through, he do something you don’t like, you’ll drop him too.”
Towards the end of the track, the 48-year-old artist took more shots at Adidas for ending multiple careers:
“F***ing careers up, T-Mac, Derrick Rose, RG3, John Wall, let ’em know. Reggie Bush, Iman Shumpert, I’m on the road. You know ???, Google what was on his toes.”
This issue started when Adidas used an old take from Cam’ron about Edwards not being a superstar in their ad. While the ad has been well-received, it’s clear Cam’ron took issue with how his words were used.
Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists this season, and in the Playoffs, he averaged 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. Despite their season ending with a gentleman’s sweep loss to the Mavericks in the Conference Finals, their second-round win over the Nuggets was a career-defining moment for Edwards.
