[Saba Sports News] Yesterday, Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas gave an exclusive interview to Motorsport Weekly. During the interview, he did not hide his desire to join Audi’s F1 project, believing that Audi has the talent and resources needed for success in F1; it is only a matter of time. Although he is already 35 years old, Bottas believes age is not an issue. He uses 42-year-old Spanish driver Fernando Alonso as a benchmark, asserting that he still has a long future in F1 ahead of him. When asked if he would consider being a reserve driver like Daniel Ricciardo if he did not secure an F1 seat or participate in other racing events, Bottas stated that everything is under his consideration; if he cannot stay in F1, he would choose to participate in IndyCar racing. Some fans believe that given Bottas’s insistence on a contract longer than two years, accepting a one-year contract could be an advantage for Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu, who will likely make significant concessions to compete with Bottas for a seat on the Sauber F1 Team for the 2025 season.
