[Saba Sports News] Following a quiet exit from basketball, Blake Griffin could be set for a major comeback in a new role.
Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported Tuesday that Griffin, the retired former All-Star, is highly sought after by the NBA’s next wave of TV partners. Amazon Prime Video is reportedly in talks with Griffin to make him “the face” of their NBA coverage for the 2025-26 season.
Additionally, NBC Sports and ESPN have also shown interest in bringing him on board.
At 35, Griffin’s resume includes being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, six All-Star appearances, and five All-NBA selections. Once one of the most electrifying players in the league, his career was hindered by injuries, leading him to retire after sitting out the 2023-24 season.
Griffin isn’t new to the entertainment world, having made TV cameos and hosted TruTV’s “Double Cross with Blake Griffin.”
Known for his comedic flair and strong stand-up skills, he fits the profile of a charismatic anchor that networks are seeking for NBA coverage.
