[Saba Sports News] England in the Bazball era finally know the taste of a series defeat. After four grueling Test matches, the Ben Stokes-led side has just managed to win only a single game, the series-opener, and then went on to record three straight losses.
Although the series win is out of the picture for England, there is still pretty much at stake with WTC points making the fifth Test, commencing on March 7 in Dharamsala, an interesting affair.
England are determined to end the tour on a high, asserted Stokes. While there was a thought that the English players have already started to think about the flight back to home, Stokes brushed aside these talks, stating the hosts are still have their minds in India and would give their best shot at culminating the series with a consolation victory.
“We won’t think about the flight home until we’re on it,” Stokes said as quoted in the pre-match presser.
“It wouldn’t be a lie to say teams can think about the flight [home] before the game has started. Hand on heart, that’s not where we’re at, that’s not our mentality, that’s not our mindset. We’ll think about the plane when we’re on it, when the game is done and we’re on the way home.” “We’re here for another five or six days – and all our mindset is on is what we need to do to win this game,” he added.
