[Saba Sports News] After three seasons of dealing with back issues, Ben Simmons has shared a promising update as training camp approaches.
Simmons’ agent, Bernie Lee, told NBA insider Chris Haynes that Simmons has been fully cleared to participate in training camp with no restrictions following his back procedure.
The key question now is whether Simmons can stay healthy. He played just 42 games for Brooklyn in the 2022-23 season, the most he’s managed in three years. Simmons has become a bit of a punchline due to his frequent injuries and struggles on the court.
While recent workouts show his jump shot improving, many are skeptical about his ability to translate that to game performance.
With $40 million owed to him this season and entering the final year of his contract, Simmons has a lot to prove. A healthy training camp would be a positive first step toward rebuilding his career.
