[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, Bayern Munich fans have collectively canceled their ticket applications due to high ticket prices for the match against Shakhtar Donetsk. The UEFA Champions League match between Shakhtar Donetsk and Bayern Munich will take place on December 11, with Shakhtar Donetsk borrowing Schalke 04’s home ground for this season’s Champions League matches. Due to excessively high ticket prices for this match, Bayern Munich fans have canceled 36,000 ticket applications, and loyal fan organizations are calling for fans to boycott this match due to high prices. It is reported that ticket prices are excessively high only for Bayern Munich fans; seats for this match start at €105, while tickets for Shakhtar Donetsk’s upcoming matches against Atalanta start at €28 and against Young Boys start at €31. Standing tickets against Bayern Munich start at €52; against Atalanta at €23; and against Young Boys at €26. At €52, Shakhtar Donetsk’s ticket pricing for this match is below UEFA’s new upper limit for away tickets in the Champions League but far exceeds what Bayern Munich fans pay for home matches: even for matches against Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich raised prices across all ticket categories but still set the minimum price at only €19.
