Sports News] Viktor Axelsen, the Danish badminton star currently competing in
the Malaysian Open, recently shared his thoughts on his height in an interview
with the media. He expressed his worries about growing too tall and how it
might affect his ability to play in the men’s singles event. Axelsen mentioned
that he had been told that if he became too tall, he might not be suitable for
men’s singles. Being taller than most of the top men’s singles players put
significant pressure on him, and he felt disappointed. Axelsen, who stands at
194cm, is one of the tallest men’s singles badminton players. He reached a
height of 190cm when he was just 17 years old and became the first European
player to dominate the World Youth Championship at the age of 16. Through study
and research, he gained confidence that tall players can excel at the
international level. Now, as a world champion and Olympic champion, Axelsen’s
success serves as an inspiration to others.
