[Saba Sports News] Austin Reaves, after another loss for the Lakers, this time against the Pelicans, expressed a strong desire to see the team return to winning ways. Despite LeBron James’ 34-point effort, the Lakers suffered their second consecutive loss and fourth in the last six games, ending the year on a down note.
Reaves, who contributed 20 points and nine assists, stressed the importance of winning and the team’s collective goal of success. He acknowledged various challenges the team faced, including health issues, injuries, and sickness, and emphasized the need for self-improvement and collective betterment.
“I want to win and that’s the main goal at the end of the day wins and losses is why you play the game. You want to win. And as a team, I believe that you know what our goal is to do is win.” “And you know since the in-season tournament we’ve been struggling. Health, you know injuries, sickness, you know we’ve kind of had some bad fortune there.”
“But at the end of the day it happens to everybody and we got to look in the mirror and you know see what we can do to be better what I could do to be better and you know just get better.”
Despite James’ impressive performances, the team has faced issues in areas like three-point shooting and defense, underscoring the need for improvement to regain their winning form. The Lakers are now focused on addressing these challenges as they move into the new year, with an emphasis on self-assessment, adjustments, and a commitment to team success.
