[Saba Sports News] Due to fan disturbances in the stands, Atletico Madrid was previously punished by the Spanish Football Federation with a three-match closure of part of the stands and a fine. The club appealed this decision. Recently, Atletico Madrid officially announced that their punishment has been partially reduced after the appeal. Atletico Madrid stated: “Originally, Atletico Madrid was punished with a three-match closure of the lower south stand and a fine of €45,000; after appeal, this punishment has been partially reduced.” This punishment stemmed from previous misconduct. After the Spanish Football Federation’s competition committee decided to close the lower south stand for three matches and impose a €45,000 fine, the club’s appeal received partial support. The appeals committee’s ruling decided to reduce the punishment to “closing the stand for one match and imposing a €3,000 fine. The partial closure will affect sections 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, and 133.” This partial stand closure will be enforced during the match against Leganes on Sunday, October 20 at 16:15. The club recognizes that this decision affects most well-behaved fans and has decided to refund an amount equivalent to this match in the season ticket for the 2025-26 season.
