[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, the owner of Aston Villa is considering forming an alliance with the City Football Group, the entity behind Manchester City. Nassef Sawiris, one of Aston Villa’s owners and the richest man in Egypt, has recently relocated his family office to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The increasingly close relationship between the two parties is particularly beneficial for the City Football Group. Reports suggest that after unexpectedly securing a place in the Champions League last season, Aston Villa’s board of directors is confident and has proposed to the Premier League to allow increased financial losses. This presents a perfect opportunity for Manchester City to find an ally at the right time. While there haven’t been clear indications that Aston Villa supports Manchester City’s stance based on previous voting results, there are signs that the two clubs are gradually aligning. It is reported that Sawiris maintains a friendly relationship with Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, which is crucial for establishing an alliance between the two clubs. Given Sawiris’ background and approach to the free market, City sees him as a potential asset as he settles into his new working environment.
