[Saba Sports News] On Wednesday, Aston Martin conducted track testing of the 2026 F1 tires in Barcelona. Reserve driver Felipe Drugovich drove a modified AMR23 car to test prototypes of the 2026 tires, accumulating over 670 kilometers of data for Pirelli. This marks Pirelli’s first testing of new tires on a real F1 car, and it is expected that the FIA will arrange for more teams to participate in testing for the 2026 tires next year. F1 will undergo a new round of technical changes in 2026; in addition to engine aspects, body and aerodynamic regulations will also be adjusted. Along with requirements to reduce weight, tire sizes will also decrease. The 2026 F1 tires will still retain an 18-inch rim but will have their diameter reduced from the current 720mm to 705-710mm, with front and rear tire widths narrowed by 25mm and 30mm respectively. As the technical regulations for 2026 are likely to be revised again, it is still early for the official finalization of the 2026 tires.
