[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, Real Sociedad is negotiating with Arsenal regarding the transfer of Mikel Merino, with a transfer fee potentially nearing €40 million. It is reported that Real Sociedad President Hawking Apribay personally traveled to London to meet with Arsenal’s management in an attempt to finalize the agreement for Merino’s transfer. Although Real Sociedad is not actively selling players, they do hope to conclude this deal as soon as possible. The club aims to reach an agreement close to €40 million, including a fixed transfer fee and performance-related clauses. Considering that Merino’s contract will expire next year, this is quite a high price. The club is even willing to accept installment payments to reach this amount. It is known that Arsenal’s previous offer of a €30 million fixed transfer fee plus €5 million in performance-related clauses was rejected by Real Sociedad. The two sides had a meeting last Wednesday and had further contact over the weekend, but no consensus has been reached yet. I wonder what Arsenal fans think about this?
