[Saba Sports News] Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards made a promise to Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons after the team’s crucial win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. The Timberwolves avoided a series sweep with a 105-100 victory in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, pushing the series back to Minnesota.
After the game, Edwards was seen talking to Parsons in a hallway at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Edwards assured Parsons he would see him back in Dallas for Game 6.
During the postgame press conference, Edwards addressed the conversation.
“What am I supposed to say? That we’re going to lose Game 5? No, I would never say that. Micah Parsons, he was rocking the AE1s, and I told him I’ll bring him some nice shoes for Game 6,” said Edwards.
The AE1s are Edwards’ first signature shoe with Adidas. Parsons was courtside wearing a Luka Doncic Mavericks jersey and Edwards’ sneakers.
Edwards had made a similar guarantee to a Denver Nuggets locker room attendant during the Western Conference semifinals and kept his promise then. In Game 4, Edwards led the Timberwolves with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.
