[Saba Sports News] Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards recently shared high praise for one of his Team USA teammates, Devin Booker.
During an interview at Fanatics Fest NYC alongside Kevin Durant, Edwards highlighted Booker as the unsung hero of their Olympic squad. “Steph had great games, [Kevin Durant] had great games, LeBron had great games,” Edwards said. “But [Devin Booker] was guarding the best player, turning down shots, cause Book can go for 70, not gonna lie, I was impressed watching him.”
While Booker and Durant both averaged 27.1 points per game for the Phoenix Suns last season, Booker embraced a secondary role for Team USA, averaging 11.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. His willingness to prioritize the team’s success earned him praise from both Edwards and Team USA head coach Steve Kerr.
Edwards’ respect for Booker and Durant likely sheds light on his thoughts about the Timberwolves-Suns playoff series a few months back.
