[Saba Sports News] Anthony Edwards has solidified his status as one of the NBA’s biggest names this past season, and the Minnesota Timberwolves star has been rewarded with a massive new endorsement deal.
On Wednesday, Edwards signed a multi-year contract extension with Adidas, reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. The deal is reportedly worth eight figures annually. Edwards has improved consistently over his first four NBA seasons, averaging a career-high 25.9 points per game this season, along with 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
The 22-year-old has elevated his game even more in the playoffs over the past three years, averaging 27.8 points per game in 27 contests. This postseason, Edwards had three games with 40 or more points and led Minnesota to the Western Conference Finals, where they lost 4-1 to the Dallas Mavericks.
Edwards’ fierce competitiveness and outspoken nature have also boosted his brand. He recently made headlines with a bold comment about his standing with Team USA.
Adidas seems to have made a very wise investment in Edwards.
