[Saba Sports News] At the recently concluded Singapore Badminton Open, South Korea’s top badminton player An Se-young emerged victorious in the women’s singles final against China’s Chen Yufei. An Se-young displayed exceptional performance, defeating Chen Yufei convincingly. With this win, An Se-young created history by becoming the first Korean women’s singles player to defend her title at the Singapore Open. This victory adds to her previous triumphs at the Malaysian Super 1000 and French Super 750, securing her third crown of the year. Notably, An Se-young has proven to be a formidable opponent for Chen Yufei, having defeated her in all four finals they have competed in, including the Malaysian Super 500 in 2022, the Hangzhou Asian Games, and the All England last year. An Se-young is a remarkable talent in South Korean badminton, gaining recognition at a young age and becoming the first middle school student in history to be selected for the Korean national team. She has won various prestigious titles, including the Badminton World Tour Finals Women’s Singles Championship, the Uber Cup Badminton Championship with the national team, and now the Singapore Badminton Open women’s singles championship.
