[Saba Sports News] Former India cricketer Ambati Rayudu will represent MI Emirates in the International League T20 (ILT20) 2024.
Rayudu’s announcement came a day after he quit the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) as he took a decision to take a break from politics just eight days after joining the party.
As the specifications grew surrounding the reason of Rayudu’s decision, he himself cleared the air, expressing his will to continue as a player, which would have not been possible had he been affiliated with a political party.
“I Ambati Rayudu will be representing the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming ILt20 from jan 20th in Dubai. Which requires me to be politically non affiliated whilst playing professional sport,” Rayudu tweeted.
MI Emirates is a sister franchise of Mumbai Indians, where Rayudu started his IPL career in 2010 and won three trophies with them till 2017. He moved to Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2018 and also had a successful stint there, winning three more titles under the leadership of MS Dhoni. He retired from the IPL after winning the final versus Gujarat Titans in 2023.
