[Saba Sports News] Australia and Sydney Sixers wicketkeeper-batter, Alyssa Healy, will miss the entire Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) season due to a finger injury. This unfortunate turn of events occurred when Healy was bitten on her right index finger while attempting to separate her two Staffordshire bull terrier puppies, resulting in a laceration that required surgery.
Expressing her disappointment, Healy said, “This is not the news I was hoping for because I love playing in the WBBL and I love the Sydney Sixers.” She emphasized her commitment to making a full recovery and returning to play when the time is right. In the meantime, she plans to stay connected with the Sixers squad and provide support to the team and the club during the competition.
Despite her absence, Healy is looking forward to watching the WBBL from a distance, acknowledging the tournament’s continued growth and success. The Sydney Sixers, currently seventh on the points table, have faced a challenging start to the season, with no wins in their first three matches.
