[Saba Sports News] In the 2023 ODI World Cup, teams are showing mixed performance, with some likely to advance to the knockout stages while others may miss out. Bangladesh, led by Shakib Al Hasan, has been disappointing, winning only one out of six games and currently standing ninth in the standings. Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra expressed disappointment in Bangladesh’s poor performance, particularly in a subcontinent-hosted World Cup.
Chopra also praised the Netherlands, who are eighth in the standings with two wins out of six games. He commended their performance but raised questions about their future plans, specifically regarding bilateral ODI cricket series against top teams like Australia, England, India, South Africa, and New Zealand. He emphasized the importance of inclusivity beyond just once-in-four-year events.
Next, the Netherlands will face Afghanistan in the 34th game of the tournament at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, November 3.
