[Saba Sports News] Japanese badminton player Ohori Aya has secured her first-ever Olympic ticket in her badminton career. This marks her debut appearance in the Olympic badminton competition. According to reports from Japanese media, in Tomioka Town, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, which is Ohori Aya’s hometown, numerous residents spontaneously organized supportive groups and formed cheerleading teams. The team members proudly hold ribbons with the words “Ohori Aya,” rehearsing and cheering on-site. Coming from a badminton family, Aya Ohori started playing the sport at the age of 6. She previously achieved second place in the women’s singles category during the Northeastern District preliminaries of the 14th All-Japan Elementary School Badminton Championships. In middle school, she won the All-Japan Junior High School Championship singles title and finished as the runner-up in the All-Japan Youth Championship singles event. In 2013, Ohori was selected for the Japanese national B team to compete in the Asian Championships, where she clinched the Asian Youth Championship singles title, becoming the first Japanese player to do so. Throughout her career, she has consistently achieved remarkable results in international competitions.
