[Saba Sports News] The Philadelphia 76ers had a scare on Wednesday with rookie guard Jared McCain. With just four minutes remaining in their preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets, McCain missed a shot and leaped for a rebound between two defenders.
In an awkward twist, he fell backward, hitting his head on the court. Head coach Nick Nurse later confirmed McCain was taken to the hospital for evaluation after experiencing breathing difficulties from the fall.
McCain, a 20-year-old former Duke standout and the 76ers’ No. 16 pick in this year’s draft, is known for his TikTok presence and painted nails. Recently, though, he’s been turning heads on the court, averaging 13.2 points in Summer League and 12.8 points in preseason play.
