Mohammed Shami, the fast bowler for India, is
convalescing from an ankle injury he fought through to lead his team’s bowling
assault during the ICC World Cup. He is expected to see a specialist in London.
The great pacer has stayed out of action following India’s 2023 One Day
International (ODI) World Cup runners-up finish. Shami was the top wicket-taker
of the ICC competition at the end of the 2023 World Cup. Pacer Shami, who
hasn’t played since November, was hoping to make a return during the Test series
against England.
Shami stated that his recuperation is proceeding
according to plan, and the National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) medical staff was
pleased with the 2023 World Cup hero’s development. After missing the South
Africa series, Shami resumed his training sessions with the intention of
rejoining the Indian team for the England series. Shami, however, was not
selected for the five-match Test series because he was unable to recuperate in
time.
It has been reported that Shami will shortly be able
to travel to London. The head of NCA’s sports science section, Nitin Patel, is
probably going to be with the senior pacer. The report states that Shami and
Patel collaborated at NCA to treat the pacer’s ankle problem. Premier batter
Suryakumar Yadav had a groyne operation in Germany earlier.
According to the report, Rishabh Pant may soon be sent
to London by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Pant, a batsman
and wicketkeeper, wants to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024.
It will take Prithvi Shaw, an Indian opener, at least another month to make a
comeback to competitive cricket. His comeback is contingent upon passing more
difficult agility routines and acceleration tests.
