Although the team brought in new foreign recruit Sheldon Mac in place of Jordam Adams, the win was mostly done by homegrown players, helping Beermen to their fourth win in Group B and a 4-2 record.
The win also moved Beermen even with Barangay Ginebra Kings in the standings behind the 5-1 leader Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
Marcio Lassiter was outstanding, scoring 17 points and hitting four 3-pointers to move ahead of Allan Caidic (1,242) for second place on the all-time 3-point list with 1,243, behind Jimmy Alapag’s 1,250.
Lassiter’s key 3-point assist helped Beermen rally from an eight-point deficit late in the third quarter and rally down the stretch to beat NLEX.
