[Saba Sports News] Young Pakistan batter Saim Ayub could make his debut in the third Test match of the ongoing series against Australia.
Ayub is a stroke player and as Imam-ul-Haq’s low strike-rate has come under scrutiny, the former could perfectly fit the bill in Pakistan’s line-up as an opener.
The 21-year-old has played only 14 first-class games for Karachi, averaging 46.47 with three hundreds and as many fifties.
In another change, Pakistan could bring in one of Abrar Ahmed or Sajid Khan in place of Hasan Ali. As there are concerns on Abrar’s fitness, off-spinner Sajid is likely to be drafted in the XI.
Pakistan have already lost the Test series as they are 0-2 down. However, the upcoming fixture comes with a chance for them to end their 16-Test losing streak in Australia.
