(sabasports report) Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has spoken on his podcast about the future of Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag. Rio Ferdinand says Erik ten Hag could be sacked regardless of the outcome of the FA Cup final.
Manchester United and Manchester City meet in the FA Cup final on Saturday. Ferdinand said: “I think and think, win or lose, I don’t think Erik ten Hag will be in charge of Manchester United next season. It’s not the outcome I wanted, but I’m sure the club will look for a new manager.”
He explained further: “I don’t think winning the FA Cup will change the opinion of [Jim] Ratcliffe. That’s just my assumption and my perception.”
Ferdinand was disappointed with his team’s performance: “Apart from the injuries, it was a terrible performance. Most teams have had injuries, maybe not as bad as Manchester United. There can be ups and downs in the team’s performance, but the style of football should be clear. At the moment, I don’t see our style and tactics. What kind of team are we?”
In a succinct and powerful comment, Ferdinand expressed concern about Erik ten Hag’s prospects and dissatisfaction with the current situation at United.
