(sabasports report)Ralf Rangnick, Austria’s coach, is widely recognized for his coaching skills after a strong showing at the tournament. The Times has a look back at Rangnick’s short time at Manchester United and the problems he encountered.
Rangnick became United’s interim manager in November 2021 following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjær. His attempts to bring change to United were met with resistance. Visa problems prevented some members of Rangnick’s team from joining United and he left with 11 wins, nine draws and nine losses from 29 games.
Rangnick has been outspoken about the need for “open-heart surgery” if United are to challenge for the Premier League title again. His offers to the United hierarchy were ignored, including Julian ‘the Spider’ Alvarez, who later joined Manchester City for £14m.
