Morris Jr. and Shamet have non-guaranteed contracts through January, and the Knicks can cut them at any time for a small price if they don’t perform well.
With a luxurious starting lineup and a strong bench, the Knicks now look like the best team in the Eastern Conference and the league to challenge the Celtics. In the midst of all the good news, however, the Knicks have faced their own troubles.
A little more than a year ago, Randle might have been the Knicks’ best player. Since joining the Knicks, Randle has played at the top of his career, making the All-Star team three times, making the All-NBA team twice, and leading the Knicks to three playoff appearances.
Randle will definitely make a name for himself in Knicks history, but he also proved that he can’t go any further than that. So the Knicks brought in Brunson and DiVincenzo, and traded for Og-Anunobi, Hart, and Bridges to form the “Villanova” team.
