[Saba Sports News] After a much-needed win in Vizag, Team India has levelled the ongoing Test series versus England 1-1.
With the next match 10 days away, India is yet to announce their squad for the remaining three fixtures.
Reportedly, the BCCI will announce the squad by the end of this week. The biggest burning question surrounds Virat Kohli, whose availability status is still not confirmed.
Kohli had opted out of the first two Tests citing personal reasons. A few days ago, his close friend and former RCB teammate AB de Villiers divulged the details of their chat, sharing that Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, is pregnant.
“Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him. But he has made absolutely the right decision,” de Villiers said as quoted on his YouTube channel
While nothing is out officially on this, India head coach Rahul Dravid, when asked about Kohli’s availability, kept the suspense alive, saying that selectors that only selectors can provide the related answers.
“I think it’s best to ask the selectors. I am sure they are the best people to answer ahead of the team selection for the next three Tests. We will get to that. I am sure there will be selection over the next few days. We will connect with him and find out,” Dravid told the reporters.
The caravan will move to Rajkot, where the third Test match will begin on February 15.
